Si Siman: The Ozark Jubilee and Music Business at the Crossroads Join Kitty Ledbetter who will tell the story of Si Siman’s role in creating, developing, securing talent, and co-producing the first continuous live country music show in history: the Ozark Jubilee. Almost all major country music artists appeared on the Jubilee during its run of 1955-1960. At its peak, 25-30 M viewers watched the weekly show. Broadcast from the Jewell Theatre in Springfield., MO, the Jubilee was the third largest broadcast origination point between New York City and Hollywood. Kitty’s presentation will be underwritten by the Missouri Speakers Bureau, jointly organized and managed by Missouri Humanities and the State Historical Society of Missouri. WHERE?
